Hall of Honor Recognizes 2018 Award Recipients

Honoring all of the amazing accomplishments of ENA members is an important part of Emergency Nursing 2018. For this reason, the Hall of Honor is an area attendees shouldn’t miss. This year, to recognize Pittsburgh as the City of Bridges, the Hall of Honor is on a bridge high above the exhibit hall. Photos and placards line the bridge to honor the latest ENA Lantern Award recipients, 2018 Academy of Emergency Nursing inductees as well as individual and ENA state council achievement award recipients.

ENA’s own Journal of Emergency Nursing uses this opportunity to showcase the best authors and their studies, as well as exemplary reviewers, who volunteer their valuable time to the peer-review process.

Also highlighted along the hall are the 2018 ENA Lantern Award recipients. The Lantern Award is a highly coveted recognition, which honors emergency departments that exemplify exceptional and innovative performance in leadership, practice, education, advocacy and research. EDs that receive the Lantern Award demonstrate a commitment to quality, safety, a healthy work environment and innovation in nursing practice and emergency care. Nineteen EDs earned the award this year.

Attendees who would like to learn what it takes to earn an ENA Lantern Award should attend today’s session “Lighting the Way to Excellence: Lantern Award Recipient Panel.” Held from 5 to 6 p.m. in Room 407, the session will feature a representative panel of 2018 Lantern Award recipients who will highlight their emergency departments’ exceptional and innovative practices. They will share how achieving this recognition impacted their ED staff and their organization. Panelists also will discuss the application process and give tips for success in completing the application.
